What better
place to indulge
in the foods of
Italy than in
the center of
Tuscany, Siena?!
Tuscans revel in
their culinary
heritage, and
food is a
central part of
everyday life.
The act of
eating is not
only for
sustenance, but
more
importantly, a
celebration of
life itself.
Learn
to taste olive
oils, why the
bread is plain,
the importance
of origin of
wine, the
process of
balsamic
vinegar, the
secrects of the
recipe of
Siena's
fruitcake, how
truffles are
found, the
cheese making
process, the
curious Italian
coffee culture
and make
acquaintance
with the Sienese
pig, the
so-called Cinta
Senese...
and
much more...
 We'll
introduce you to
Siena's best
coffee maker -
this guy
actually blends
and roasts his
own beans. Maybe
not such an
exceptional
thing in the
World today -
but as you may
know the
Italians
invented the
"espresso" and
swear by it! We
will discover
which is the
Italian coffee
culture and
taste espresso
in proper way.
 With
us you will meet
the food
artisans of
Siena, an
encounter that
will teach you
about the
Italian concept
of "Slow Food".
We will
introduce you to
Siena's most
typical cakes
(Panforte &
Ricciarelli) in
the very best
place of town.
Come with an
appetite and
with curiosity
and we will try
to fullfill
both.
We aim to bring
travelers to the
town’s
best foods,
educating them
as they eat the
best Siena has
to offer.
We offer these
walking tours
thrice a week, as
well as special
private tours
upon request
(only when shop
openings allow
it).
 This tour
combines the
essentials of
the Italian diet
into an
experience full
of food, fun,
and facts that
you may have
never imagined.
Please
note that our
walking tour is
not a guided
tour of of Siena
(so don't expect
non food related
information to
be given). This
tour offers
a chance to not
only taste, but
learn about
Tuscany’s wealth
of foods. See
how they tie
into local
Tuscan
culture and
history, and
enjoy every
delicious bite.
What
will you taste?
Cheese, cold
cuts,
cakes, olive
oil, balsamic
vinegar, wines, coffee,
truffle,
saffron,
chocolate...
This class is
